Hi-Sky Munich & MOTORWORLD

Munich’s new Ferris wheel has found a name and operator

The Motorworld Group will be taking over the operation of Munich’s new attraction, the ‘Hi-Sky München’. Constructed by Munich-based MAURER SE, it will be located in the new district Werksviertel-Mitte. Three strong partners will be lining up to establish the world’s biggest mobile Ferris wheel as a new crowd-puller in the tourism metropolis of Munich. Alongside traditional rides, the Motorworld Group is also planning truly special experiences with Hi-Sky München.

The Munich-based steel construction company MAURER SE will be setting up the Hi-Sky in Munich’s Werksviertel-Mitte district in the spring of 2019. The Ferris wheel will be run by the Motorworld Group, which already maintains a successful event operation in the Freimann district with its Motorworld München, home to the well-known Zenith, Kesselhaus and Kohlebunker event venues. “Our local team,” says Arantxa Dörrié, member of the Executive Board of the Motorworld Group, “will bring its collective expertise to bear in establishing Hi-Sky München as a real crowd-puller.” The new attraction is scheduled to open as soon as April 2019. As well as traditional rides, experiences such as a Bavarian veal sausage breakfast or meetings in a gondola will also be on offer, while catering and merchandising outlets will round off the visitors’ experience.

The opening of the new attraction is scheduled for April 2019

The Hi-Sky München will be located for at least two years at the Werksviertel-Mitte site in the immediate vicinity of the Ostbahnhof railway station, from where it will offer stupendous views of Munich’s city centre and the Alps. The new attraction will be in operation 365 days a year; opening hours from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. are currently planned. read more >
